Accommodations
You will find overnight accommodations at Prairiewoods to your liking if you are seeking quiet space for prayer, reflection and time out from everyday roles. Whether you are coming alone or with a group, you will find the restful environment in the beauty of nature to be revitalizing and a way to get away from the busyness of life.
Guest House
The Guest House provides you with a clean but simple room for your overnight stay. The first floor has three single rooms and four double rooms for guests, as well as a kitchenette, prayer room and massage room. The second floor, which is not handicap accessible, has 12 double rooms plus several common areas you can enjoy: a large lounge, kitchenette and an open porch. While each of the guest rooms has its own sink, a bathroom with shower is shared between two double rooms.
If you are staying at the Guest House, meals will be provided for you in accord with prior arrangements.
Hermitage
You may want to stay at one of our hermitages if you are looking for greater solitude. Two hermitages are located at the edge of the woods and will provide you restful space in which you can be alone. Each of these simple one-room buildings is a self-contained living space for one person and equipped with stove, refrigerator, bathroom facilities and other amenities.
These earth-friendly buildings provide such ecological features as straw bale construction, radiant floor heating, and a wetland septic system. The electricity, which comes totally from solar energy, provides only direct current (DC) for the lamps and other equipment provided. You will not be able to use non-DC appliances such as hair dryers or shavers. The hermitages are available on a two-night minimum basis.
When you are staying in a hermitage, you will be able to provide and prepare your own food. Basics such as sugar, flour, coffee, tea and cooking oil are provided. Towels and bed linens also are provided.
Delhi Retreat Cabin
As an alternate retreat place, you are invited to stay at our retreat cabin on Lake Delhi which is located about 45 miles from Prairiewoods near Manchester, Iowa. This get-away cabin is available for adult individuals or small groups for the purpose of retreats and reflection days. The cabin has a large living room with a view of the water, an equipped
kitchen and two bedrooms, each with two twin beds. If you are interested in taking time for reflection at this retreat cabin, contact the Prairiewoods office.

| Ecological issues have much to do with the universal vocation to holiness. The world is badly in need of saints-Spirit-filled, vocal prophets, not just verbal protesters. |
